I'm a Fast Fueler

According to a diet personality test I took recently at Sparkpeople.com I prefer to not have to think about what I'm eating and tend to be rather irractic with food and eating. I have to agree, I love food but I don't like to have think too much about it, which having said this, you would think a diet with structure and pre-packaged meals would work, but as I said I love food
(real food) and those types of meals leave me flat.
Lately, I've taken a more consciencious approach to what goes in my mouth, and gulp, have begun the tedious task of tracking everything. Now, mind you, I'm not trying to adhere to any suggested calorie count or anything like that, no no no no no no, I'm still very much in the
"Just stop and think about what your putting into your mouth for 5 seconds" mode. Nothing too drastic, just raising my awareness and accountability. Just having to think about food this way is certainly influencing what I do eat. I still have high calorie days but I also have ramped up activity, so in my mind it all balances out.......At least that's what I'm telling myself for now.

Sigh.........Change is hard, but so was starting to run , so was running longer and faster, so is wt. training. So, why should this be any different? I attribute a great portion of my success by starting slow. So, I'll apply the same approach to food.
I'm really working on the water intake as well, it's been easier to do as the weather is getting warmer.
My technique is lacking however, instead of sipping along throughout the day, it's more like "oh shit, it's 5:30 pm and I still gotta drink 32 oz glug glug glug glug" Then I'm up half the night peeing!

16 months ago, I embarked on this running journey. The fact that I'm still here and now reconsidering my diet is encouraging.
And oh, by the way, I've lost 4 pounds.

Today was another short but intense gym workout, 20 minutes on the treadmill, 2.14 miles just under 10 mins miles overall and 3x10 lunges w/10 lb. wts. Today was suppose to be a rest day but there was another potluck at work, and well need I say more?

As mentioned earlier, the weather is warming up and that means the trails are drying up.
And that means Strawberry Canyon is ripe for the picking this weekend woohoo!!
Look out Big Bertha here I come!
